Test from ScribeFire on Ubuntu
Welcome to Ubuntu 6.10,
Edgy Eft!
I am testing this from Firefox on Linux.
-Follow-up: It looks like it works. The Tool seems upset about something related
to categories. Not a huge deal since I don't use categories. More testing to
follow when time permits. I also need to see how to turn off the a pesky branding
that it inserts into my posts.
--Follow-up: I think that I found an option to turn off the branding. I also found
some category settings that I am playing with.
---Follow-up: It will not let you change the post title after the fact with DasBlog,
it also failed to delete a previous post even though it said it was a successful.
It is an ok tool for posting to my blog from my Linux/Ubuntu laptop... but I would
like to find something better yet. (It is a good start.)

For some reason when I upgrade the DasBlog code from 1.6.x to 1.9.x this post disappeared.
Here is the repost.
Feeding a photoblog
I am going to need to dedicate some thought to this... what is the next set of subjects?

DasBlog Issues Continued
I upgrade DasBlog from version 1.6 to 1.9.6264.0 last night. I have three issues that
I am trying to work through:
1. Time Zones - I have setup blog to Hawaiian Standard Time in order to make my blog
show up with proper Central Time. I don't understand why DasBlog is off by 5 hours
for UTC and Central time.
2. DasBlog is caching too much content. Having to touch the web.config remotely to
is poor answer for dealing with this issue.
3. I am still fighting through the themes. I am going to be forced to design a theme.
Argghhhh... I don' t want to be a web designer.
Don't get me wrong I really like DasBlog... but the little things really drive me
nuts. (You could say that I get what I pay for.) It is a great tool but good functionality
(items 1 & 2) is something that I expect regardless of price.
DasBlog Themes
I just made another
change to the blogs. I am fighting with the themes in DasBlog. I can’t find a color
combination that also includes the menu features that I want to use in addition to
supporting the image sizes without breaking up the posts. (I
just found out that my theme from this morning does not work well on my work PC.)
Looking for:
Good Design
Monochrome feel (White, Grey, Black)
Or White/Blue feel
Do not insert a break into the post
when a large picture is in the post.
Include the archive months names
(Don’t need the calendar)
Ideally have a next/previous as
you move through the archives
Include the title and sub-title
I like the Candid Blue theme by
Bryan Bell and Essence them (which doesn’t have an author credit.) Neither of them
have exactly what I want so I will probably model new theme based upon both of these.
The challenge is that I want the
theme to work across both my blog and photoblog which have different requirements. Argghhh
